  • ¾ kg boneless skinless chicken thigh, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 sachet 8g MAGGI® MAGIC SARAP®
  • ¼ cup Chinese rice wine
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 thumb-size ginger, minced
  • 4 pcs whole dried chili
  • ¼ cup Chinese rice wine
  • 3 tbsp rice wine vinegar (optional)
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch dissolved in 1 tbsp of water
  • 1 stalk scallions, sliced
Step 1
Marinate chicken with MAGGI® MAGIC SARAP®, Chinese rice wine, and soy sauce for 30 minutes. Coat well with flour and fry in preheated oil until golden brown. Transfer into a cooling rack to drain excess oil.
Step 2
Remove oil from the pan leaving 2 tbsp. Sauté garlic, ginger and dried chili. Pour Chinese rice wine, rice wine vinegar (optional), soy sauce, sugar, and water. Stir in cornstarch and water mixture and simmer until sauce is thick.
Step 3
Toss in fried chicken and cook for another minute. Transfer on a serving plate and top with scallions.
